Vinca minor Ralph Shugert

Vinca minor Ralph Shugert

Vinca minor ‘Ralph Shugert’ is a neat, evergreen groundcover with small, dark green leaves crisply edged in white, and violet-blue spring flowers. Excellent for carpeting the soil beneath shrubs and trees, edging paths, or trailing over low walls, it forms a dense, weed-suppressing mat and is reliable in Irish gardens. Grow in partial to full shade in any reasonably fertile, moist but well-drained soil; a light trim after flowering keeps it tidy and encourages fresh new shoots.

To help give a clear sense of scale, the stone wall shown in our photos measures approximately 265cm in height. We also use familiar garden tools as visual references: a digging fork (110cm tall) and a hand fork (30cm tall). These are included purely as size guides to help you better judge proportions when viewing the images.
