PULMONARIA Silver Scimitar

PULMONARIA Silver Scimitar

Pulmonaria ‘Silver Scimitar’ is a low, clump-forming lungwort valued for its narrow, striking silvered foliage and very early flowers that brighten shaded borders. In spring, short stems carry clusters that typically open pink and mature to blue, providing welcome early nectar for bees. Grow in partial to full shade in moisture-retentive, humus-rich, well-drained soil. Excellent as ground cover for woodland-style plantings, under shrubs, and at the front of shaded borders; remove older leaves after flowering to refresh the clump and mulch annually to conserve moisture.

To help give a clear sense of scale, the stone wall shown in our photos measures approximately 265cm in height. We also use familiar garden tools as visual references: a digging fork (110cm tall) and a hand fork (30cm tall). These are included purely as size guides to help you better judge proportions when viewing the images.
