PITTOSPORUM tenui. Golf Ball

PITTOSPORUM tenui. Golf Ball

A compact, naturally rounded evergreen shrub valued for its dense, neat habit and small, fresh green leaves. Ideal for low hedges, edging, containers, or adding year-round structure as a box alternative, it thrives in full sun or light shade across Ireland. Grow in fertile, moist but well-drained soil and choose a sheltered position away from cold, drying winds. Small, dark purple flowers may appear in late spring to early summer, though they are not especially showy; the foliage and tidy form are the main appeal. Minimal trimming is needed to maintain its spherical shape.

To help give a clear sense of scale, the stone wall shown in our photos measures approximately 265cm in height. We also use familiar garden tools as visual references: a digging fork (110cm tall) and a hand fork (30cm tall). These are included purely as size guides to help you better judge proportions when viewing the images.
